I have the Chicco Cortina Travel Set in Discovery.
Although this set is very highly rated, I didn’t like it. This is the travel system we originally pruchased for our 3rd child (mostly because of the ratings and it was cute). The carseat was very large, bulky, and extremely heavy. My son used it till he was 2 months before he started to look very snug in the seat. Not a good thing at only 2 months (btw, he was a preemie). The 5-point harness did not adjust big enough for him to be completely comfortable, I always worried that they were hurting him. Another CON was that this seat did not fit on any grocery carts. So there we were in the grocery store. My husband pushing a cart with all the groceries and me pushing either another cart with the carseat in the big basket or the whole stroller with 2 older pre-school age children in tow
The stroller is very nice to look at, but believe me if you don’t read the manual, you will not be able to open, close or lock the carseat in place correctly
We opted to buy our son a whole new stroller system. Right now, we are very happy with the Baby Trend Sit and Stand LX Travel System.

Looks good, but I hope you have a personal grocery shopper! There are no notches on the bottom of the car seat so the seat does not sit on top of the grocery cart. Try doing a week’s worth of shopping with a huge car seat in the main part of the buggy! Good luck!

First, let me say that this seemed like a very nice system and if my daughter had fit in it, I’d have liked it ok. That being said, my child is extremely long (at 10 weeks old) thru the torso and the angle of the seat (think 45 degree) cut her off mid abdomen instead of under her tush as it would most babies. As a result, she was very uncomfortable and when you clicked the belts in place, her legs were completely immobile. Not a good combo for my little squirmer. The fabric covering the seat was also problematic. It made her VERY hot. I’d scoop her out and she’d be drenched. After being in the seat for over an hour one evening she developed a heat rash on the side of her face which frankly was upsetting to both of us. She seemed so smushed in it so no wonder she got a rash. The actually stroller itself was pretty bulky and took up all of the room in the trunk so unless you have a SUV, this system could be too big. (it’s heavy too.. but they’re all heavy)
At 10 weeks of age, I took my daughter to a store and placed her in every car seat there.. We ended up buying the Orbit travel system cause the car seat fit her so much better. It cost $900 and believe me, we are not $900 stroller- type people… but when it comes to your kid, sometimes you pay for the seemingly ridiculous.
As I stated above, this system appeared to be very safe and secure and I have seen several babies who seem quite content in theirs. Every baby is different and unfortunately you don’t know what you’re gonna get till they pop out

The assembly was straightforward and we like the way it looks and handles. Stroller collapses to store in car quite easy. We are still waitin’ on baby to come, so i can give a more detailed review on actual use in another month or so.

I am revising my earlier post after having this travel system for 7 months.
When my baby was 15 lbs, she NO LONGER FIT IN THE CAR SEAT. this seat is expected to hold an infant up to 30 lbs., which, second to the excellent safety rating, is a big draw to purchase this system. but it did not even come close to the max weight capacity. her torso was way too long, and the shoulder straps no longer fit properly (and could hardly be fastened anymore).
as for the stroller, my baby is now 20 lbs and 28″ – her shoulders NO LONGER FIT IN THE STROLLER, which is expected to hold a child up until 50 lbs. of course, i realize that no two children are built the same, but this is just ridiculous. she cries and fusses from discomfort, and i am left with a stroller i can no longer use. when i was reading reviews, someone else posted complaints about these two wing-like pieces that were smashing their child at the shoulders and upper arms. i ignored this comment thinking it was just one child that didn’t fit comfortably. but now – woe is me, it’s my complaint now, too.
After purchasing the next car seat, a convertible (Evenflo Symphony- she absolutely loves it, therefore i absolutely love it), i am now in the market for a new stroller. what a complete waste of money.
this was my first review, and it all remains true:
I have the Chicco Keyfit 30 travel system in Romantic, and there is a lot of good but the few bad things are deal breakers.
Good:
-car seat is very easy to install, and easy to make sure it’s right (leveling bubbles are easy indicators)
-seat pops in and out with ease
-seems to be made well
Bad:
-I was very surprised at how heavy the seat is to carry with baby in tow. I am no wimp, and from day 1, I had a hard time. now that my baby is 16 lbs, it’s almost impossible for me to walk with her more than a few feet. Perhaps this is necessary to keep the seat safe. If so, then so be it!
-Hot! Hot! Hot! my daughter cries her eyes out as soon as she starts heating up- and that’s usually within 5 minutes. If I keep her in the seat (ex- if I take her food shopping), the poor baby wiggles and arches her back the whole time. when i take her out of the car seat, her back and back of her head is drenched in sweat. no, i do not over dress her and no, the sun is not beating on her. she’s fine until she starts getting heated up. it’s making traveling with her very difficult. i can not wait to purchase the next stage car seat. perhaps this is what every parent goes through? i wouldnt know, i’m just sure that the material is making our lives miserable. (someone else complained about this, too.)
-i’ve noticed that some Graco seats have a deep groove on the underside (for use with the ’snap n go’ stroller frame). this is great for seating the car seat in the top portion of the shopping cart. this seat does not have this!! i am forced to put the car seat in the large part of a shopping cart. this leaves almost no room for grocery shopping, or diaper shopping. it’s made things very tough! i can not take her along with me when i have to get things done. next time, i will look for this feature when purchasing the infant seat.
–please note: some people are carrying on about how unsafe it is to place a carrier on a shopping cart. what is the difference between how it sits in the cart, or how it sits in a ’snap n go’? are you running around the store, tipping your cart over? i’ve seen snap-n-go’s tip back twice now from heavy diaper bags, where is a shopping cart going? i would never intentionally put my little girl in harms way, nor am I thoughtless or ignorant. these statements must be coming from the lucky people who actually have HELP raising their children. i have to take my baby with me on each and every errand, so in the long run, this car seat did not work out.
ps-i would never put my child in an infant carrier until they have the proper neck support. that, my friend, is dangerous. i hate seeing those bent-necked sleeping babies. Yet, i digress….
as for the stroller-
good:
-very easy to open and close
-infant seat sits securely into stroller and goes in and out with ease
-easy to steer, especially one handed
-baby is totally shielded from sun and rain when in the infant car seat resting in the stroller (only).
bad:
-when you are NOT using the infant car seat, it is impossible to shield your baby from the sun. it pokes in at all different angles and gets her right in the face. as we walk, i have to constantly check as we pass buildings and trees if the sun is now poking her in the face. poor design.
-the basket is very hard to put things into. the basket is deep, but there is only a few inches above it to squeeze things in. poor design.
-can not drag stroller when it is closed. the basket hits the floor, and you wind up scraping the basket on the ground. it’s cumbersome to carry and often i would like to leave it closed and roll it to the car or through the house. not possible. poor design.
-my 5 month old can sit up, so i like to put her in the stroller without the car seat, but the harness doesn’t secure her well enough to keep her totally in the seat. i have to keep looking around the front every 15-20 seconds to make sure she’s not trying to lean out. this is very frustrating on long walks.
